The word 'mission' means 'sending'. But for many centuries the church took this to only mean what God did, sending his Son and his Spirit into the world.
World-wide mission exists because the God the Father wants everyone to have a relationship with Him through His in his Son, and the Son wants people to delight in that relationship with the Father.
This is the very core, and the starting point of all Christian mission.
Tim Chester introduces us to a cascade of love: love flowing from the Father to the Son through the Spirit. And that love should be continuously flowing through the Christian communities that we serve in, and beyond the walls of our churches, to a world in need of the message of love and hope of the Gospel of Christ.
Mission matters is a book for ordinary individuals who are willing to step out and be part of the most amazing, exciting adventure in the history of the world.
