Is it possible for us today to rejoice when we face disappointments, tragedies, persecutions, bereavements and setbacks? In an engaging and highly readable style, Ian Rees shows us that these experiences are a normal part of our Christian lives. Believers in the Old Testament, right through to Christians in the Church age have had experience of their faith being challenged and tested, and even though we may feel alone and that God has forgotten us, He does love us and has a plan for us. This book is full of sound biblical teaching, with illustrations for church history, modern church life and missionary work, written in a sensitive and pastoral style to encourage and support you through tough times.
