The story of David and Goliath, re-told by well known children's author Sophie Piper, illustrated by Estelle Corke for Lion Children's publishers. David the youngest son. who looked after the sheep, wrote praise songs to God, fought off wild animals then faced giant Goliath. The giant had defied the armies of Israel and therefore their God, the true God. David knew his God and God helped him to kill Goliath with only a stone and a sling. David later became king of Israel, trusting God throughout his life, an example for us.
