The stories of people in this book are just ordinary people who have made a major contribution to the improving the lives of others, or who were courageous enough to speak out about injustices in the world in which they lived . They were not perfect, but we can learn from these Christians how we can respond to injustices whenever we see it.

The biographies in this book may be uncomfortable to read, as we realise that without the hard work and sacrifices of people like Elizabeth Fry and Martin Luther King, some of the freedoms we take for granted today, may never have existed. This book contains topics that are designed to provoke discussion on moral and social issues and in most cases the answers to social challenges that Christians face are not easy.
There are still many injustices around us today. When society loses the moral compass that is the word of God, then there is a need people of courage and conviction with radical perspectives to change the way society operates.
