If a group of Christians were asked for their favourite Bible character, Barnabas would probably be one of the most mentioned names. Most of us feel drawn to this disciple, whose warm heartt shine through in the mentions he receives in Scripture. In these character studies based or passages in Acts, the suthor helps us to appreciate this wonderful man - called the Son of Encouragement, who himself is a reflection of a still greater Man, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the greatest Encourager of all.

Robert is pastor of Lincoln Evangelical Church, in the East of England. After coming to Christ in his early twenties, he worked for seventeen years in the City of London, before becoming pastor a small Baptist church in Surrey in 1988. He moved to Lincoln in 2002.
