WHY FOUR GOSPELS BY Donald Bridge
Why do we have four gospels? Donald Bridge shows in this mentor book that each gospel was written with a specific purpose. Each gospel has an emphasis aimed at the particular readers each writer had in mind. Readers of 'Why Four Gospels? will gain a fascinating insight into how and why these books of the New Testament were written.
These different emphases are explored to build up a multi-faceted picture of the life and death of Jesus. Donald Bridge demonstrates how the gospels interface with each other to achieve this. Current and past, secular and religious opinions are examined in this up-to-date investigation of a much misunderstood topic.
About Donald Bridge:
Donald Bridge is well-known internationally as an evangelist, author and pastor. He spends much of his time helping churches work through problems that are dividing them. He has written extensively on a wide variety of subjects. A companion volume to 'Why Four Gospels' is 'Jesus, the Man and his Message' (Christian Focus) which explains the methods used by Jesus to interact with his hearers. Writing with David Phypers he co-authored the best-selling 'Spiritual Gifts and the Church' (Christian Focus), a comprehensive examination of a controversial subject. His next volume for mentor will again be co-operating with David Phypers on an updated revision of 'The Water that Divides', a book that has become a classic on the subject of Baptism due to the way in which the issue is examined.
A busy preaching schedule (he had to wait for a year to get married, it was his first available date!) and extensive writing leaves him little time to indulge his love of sailing.
