This new work by veteran evangelist and author Ivor Powell provides fifty-two studies from both the Old and New Testaments for devotional reading or sermon preparation. Some of the studies included are:
- The Man Who Was Scared at the Gate of Heaven
- The Danger of keeping Back
- Jesus - Who Ruined a Dinner party
- Paul - Who Lost His Head and His Hair
In choosing the title of the book, the author observes that "the Lord used Asaph, a musician in the tabernacle, to chide the nation. He said if they had obeyed the commandments, they would have been given 'honey out of the rock' (Psalm 81:16). One wonders if somewhere in Hebrew history such an event had taken place; that a bee's nest had been discovered amidst rocky terrain, and these suggestive Scriptures were based on that discovery... I am indebted to... Asaph for supplying the title of this book. I have found honey in the Rock of Ages, and these Bible studies are sent forth with the prayer that [readers] will find in them food for the soul."
